Managed IT Services benefit any size company.

Small Business (2-10 Employees)

A very small business will generally try and tackle the IT environment on their own. They have a true “make it work” mentality, and they usually do.

The problem is, they generally don’t know what they don’t know, and the same could be said for the trusted friend that setup their network.

For these businesses, the dedicated account rep that we provide will be their biggest asset. He will make sure the right IT services are being rendered, and that efficiency and security are as high as possible. The best part is that there’s finally someone to ask when you have a question.

At the very least, these businesses should have Managed Backup Services to make sure they are able to recover in the event of disaster.

Small Business (10-50 Employees)

The size of this business is what we call the donut hole. They generally know that they need consistent IT support, but it’s not quite big enough for in-house IT service to be fully utilized.

This is where the true value of Managed IT Service presents it self. It’s like having a full time dedicated IT staff, but at the highest efficiency possible because the rates you pay reflect only what’s actually used. Your account rep serves as your CIO, and lives to learn to your business.

An in-house solid support tech costs about $65,000/year with all the payroll taxes, benefits, and insurance on top. The fact that you share our managed IT services with other businesses allows us to come in at half price for a 25 employee business, and with much better results.

Medium Size Business (50-100 Employees)

IT Service is required at this level, and there’s budget to hire in-house. The question is what level tech to hire, but there’s no right answer.

Let’s consider an engineer level tech that can build an environment that provides high efficiency and security. At $90-$115,000/year this engineer would spend half of his time resetting passwords, answering mundane help desk tickets, and patching computers.

A solid support tech has the same but opposite problem. The support tickets are right up their alley, but there might be much that is beyond them.

We provide both types of techs on call, and provide the dedicated CIO. A 75 user business gets an entire team for the cost of one solid tech.

Why Advantek?

Because we understand small business. We have an exceptional amount of experience and intimate relationships with businesses up to 400 employees, but we know the struggle of small business because we ourselves are one. We know what it’s like to make a large capital investment only to be let down. That’s why we’ve developed solution for our clients to invest in their IT infrastructure, but slowly and over time. We’ll never suggest a massive overhaul that costs ten’s of thousands of dollars without proving the solution first, and in such a way that you make only a tenth of the investment that would otherwise be necessary. How many managed IT service providers can say that? Here’ some of the way’s we lower capital expenditure:

Cloud Infrastructure

Everything from file sharing to application hosting can be done in the cloud. Use it as a sandbox before making larger investments, or as a permanent highly available solution.

Hardware as a Service

Pay a small monthly fee for any of our preferred hardware. When it needs upgraded we’ll take it back. If it breaks, we replace it. If you later decide to outright buy, that’s fine.

Virtualization

One machine can host many different virtual machines, no need to buy many PC’s and Servers. We make this cost efficient, using free VMWare hypervisors in the right cases.

Refurbished Gear

Just because a huge enterprise replaces hardware every 3 years doesn’t mean it’s not perfect for you. With the right recovery plan in place, if this is where you want to save, we’re all about it.

We provide the CIO

It’s hard to make decisions about the IT environment if it’s not what you do for a living. It generally leaves people relying on their most “tech saavy” friend or relative for advice. That’s not a good idea.

Every account we manage has a dedicated account representative, tasked to be your trusted advisor. They will help guide infrastructure decisions based on your work flow efficiency, tolerance for downtime, and budget. They will give you an IT roadmap.

The dedicated account rep is included in our managed it service. They are your fractional CIO. The advice is included, but the decisions remain all yours, and we’re happy to execute them.

Disaster Recovery Planning

All those years of accounting, client contacts, and projects could all be lost in a second with just one disaster, natural or man-made. It could be as simple as a storm, a disgruntled employee, or even a fire sprinkler. You need to have a plan.

Disaster recovery can mean lots of things. It can mean the ability to get back to where you left off within a few days, or it can mean automatic failover so that there’s no time lost at all.

Our services come standard with Cloud Backup of all essential PC’s and Servers. If you lose it all, it won’t all be lost. We can customize plans to get you back up and running even faster, within minutes if that’s all you can tolerate.

What's included?

Everything listed in the description of our managed IT services, but for clarity hardware and some services outside of our scope are not included and are listed as such.

Getting Started.

To get started, fill out the price estimate above, click “next” then fill out your contact information and click “submit.” Your new dedicated account rep will follow up with you shortly. We expect that you’ll want some time to get to know them, and that’s great.

If you decide we’re a good fit then we’ll send over our Master Service Agreement. Read it, sign it, and return it, and we’ll start immediately.

Prices may vary.

We did our best to provide a tool to estimate your monthly cost for managed IT services. However, actual prices will vary. It’s typically higher if you run some more advanced server features, and typically lower if you have a lot of PC’s that only access cloud services.

All in all, the estimates will get you pretty close, but we always recommend calling to tell us more about your application.

Contracts Lengths.

Most of the work we do is front loaded. The longer we have a client, the smoother things run. For this reason we have a minimum term of 12-24 months with built-in renewals. Renewal can be declined with a 3 word email “cancel my service” any time 30 days prior to renewal.

We promise rapid remediation of your pain points, but the real benefits come in the long term. We want to grow with you.

Not included.

Hardware is not included in the pricing estimate. We are adamant about using particular products, mostly network gear, so they will need to be purchased. However, you can add the cost of the hardware to your monthly payments so that you still pay nothing upfront.

Cabling services are not included, but we are happy to pull any amount of cable, it will just be billed for separately. We also do equipment wiring cleanups.

Third party services, including but not limited to Office 365, AWS, and Azure, are not included. This also applies to our virtual private cloud hosting service.

Greater Chicago Only.

Currently, our all inclusive managed IT services are only available in Chicago and the Northwest suburbs. We live here, and so does our support desk.

If you’re in the greater Chicago area, be sure to inquire about our media and cabling services. This includes wiring new buildings, retrofitting existing spaces, and of course audio, video, and surveillance.

A portion of our services, managed cloud backup, is not geographically restriced and can be deployed anywhere in the United States.
